ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Nurse Post Baccalaureate RN Residency Program Manager is a nursing leader who executes responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to providing education opportunities with consideration to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering education and training programs for various stakeholders (including nursing students, RNs, new graduate RNs, nurse residents, preceptors, mentors, and other support teams and clinical staff).</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Nurse Post Baccalaureate RN Residency Program Manager is a role model in demonstrating excellence in practice, serves as a clinical mentor/preceptor for clinical and administrative staff, consults/collaborates in patient care and research, educates in formal and informal situations. Duties include but not limited to: Assesses the clinical performance, knowledge, skills, and competencies of RN residents/trainees and creates individualized learning plans to support clinical and professional development. Applies principles and theory of adult learning principles, teaching/learning methodologies, program management skills, and critical thinking skills. Provides clinical oversight of RN residents/trainees providing direct patient care. Facilitates academic relationships with schools of nursing on behalf of VAPORHCS. Coordinates and provides programmatic guidance for the RN Entry-to-Practice programs, preceptors, mentors, program faculty, and other program support team members. Collaborates with the nurse managers, staff, educators, and preceptors on program development, implementation, progress, and evaluation. Supports all efforts in achieving and maintaining accreditation of OAA Post-Baccalaureate PB-RNR and the Office of Nursing Services (ONS) Transition to Practice (TTP) programs through the CCNE and/or other accrediting bodies. Develops local content and utilizes national resources in directing, coordinating, and implementing the program curriculum to ensure that it meets the needs of the post-graduate RN, CCNE accreditation, and the ONS and OAA programs. Supports data collection and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of the Entry-to-Practice programs to support maintaining CCNE accreditation and recruitment, retention, and program satisfaction metrics. Performs duties as primary timekeeper for post-baccalaureate nurse residents.
