<p>The Nurse (Operative and Specialty Care) is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Operative and Specialty Care RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components. Operative and Specialty Care RN assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Eugene is the 2nd most populous city in Oregon after Portland. Located in Lane County, Eugene is also referred to as the 'Emerald City' and is at the southern end of Willamette Valley, near the confluence of the McKenzie and Willamette rivers. Home to the University of Oregon, Bushnell University, and Lane Community College, Eugene is known for its college culture, focus on the arts, recreational activities, and green activism. The Nurse (Operative and Specialty Care) executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex specialty care. Duties include but not limited to: Provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education and coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management. Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines. Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for specialty care outpatients. Provides peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement and supports colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality specialty nursing care and fosters a safe, supportive environment conducive to the professional development of health care professionals. Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations. Responsible for the documented outcomes at the specialty care program or service level. Specialty care program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility.
