Nurse (OB/GYN)

<p>About the Position: This position is located in (OB/GYN), Directorate for Surgical Services, of the local medical treatment facility. The primary purpose of the position is to provide nursing services to eligible beneficiaries at the Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN) clinic. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Implements, directs, and coordinates the nursing process in compliance with currently approved standards of nursing practice.</p><p>Plans organizes, develops, and implements methods of providing quality nursing care.</p><p>Maintains liaison with other health care professionals and community referral services.</p><p>Coordinates health care needs by making appropriate referrals as indicated.</p><p>Instructs patients and/or families in preparation for various tests, obtaining specimens, and initiates arrangements for follow-up care per order of the health care provider.</p><p>Assigns duties and delegates patient care to other clinical nurses, licensed practical nurses, and military hospital corps personnel, as indicated, with consideration of the qualifications and capabilities of the individuals.</p><p>Determines departmental staffing needs based on level of activity and available resources.</p><p>Plans, implements, and monitors individually structured clinical orientation program for all new staff.</p><p>Counsels staff concerning duties, responsibilities, and assignments. Initiates competency plan for new staff.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
