Nurse (Inpatient Clinical/Obstetrics-Gynecology)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide comprehensive professional nursing care to OB/GYN patients and their newborns with medical conditions.</p><p>Administer oxygen, IV fluids, amnioinfusion, blood products, and prescribed medications.</p><p>Sets up and operates specialized monitoring equipment including blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximetry, fetal heart rate monitors (internal and external), neonatal resuscitation equipment, cardiac monitoring, and infant warmers.</p><p>Serve as Charge Nurse on a rotational basis.</p><p>Develop nursing care plans and procedures, set standards of care, prescribe special care and identify specific nursing problems for all patients.</p><p>Serve as a mentor, preceptor, and role model to experienced and fully trained obstetrical nurses as well as those not fully trained.</p><p>Participate in department and unit-level simulation drills, staff meetings, in-services/briefings, and in continuing quality and process improvement measures.</p><h3>Education</h3>See Qualifications section for education requirements.
