Nurse (Clinical)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at the Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide a broad spectrum or Registered Nursing care and treatment from newborn to geriatric patients, as well as, from minor care to the Very Seriously Ill (VSI) patient due to illness, disease or incident.</p><p>Administer oxygen, IV fluid, blood/ blood products transfusion and prescribed oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular medications and intravenous infusions.</p><p>Set up, operate and monitor specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, respirators, defibrillators, patient controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps, infusion pumps, continuous passive motion (CPM).</p><p>Manage nasal -pharyngeal and gastric suction as well as a variety of other drainage tubes.</p><p>Oversee nursing and other paraprofessional staff, monitoring their duty performance to ensure appropriate protocols, standards, policies, regulations and documentation requirements are met.</p><p>Conduct ongoing assessment of department operations throughout the shift and make adjustments in staffing as necessary for seamless patient care.</p><h3>Education</h3>See Qualifications section for education requirements.
