Nurse (Clinical/Psychiatric)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital with the Directorate of Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing at Fort Carson, Colorado. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform a comprehensive behavioral health nursing assessment.</p><p>Utilize appropriate interview skills to identify existing and potential problems and formulate a nursing plan of care.</p><p>Educate patient and family members regarding the disease process.</p><p>Communicate progress and/or changes to the patient, family and members of the health care team.</p><p>Make interdisciplinary referrals.</p><p>Administer many psychotropic and complex medications via the oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, topical, rectal, respiratory, intravenous routes.</p><p>Develop and initiate an innovative teaching program for patients requiring special approaches.</p><h3>Education</h3>See Qualifications section for education requirements.
