Nurse (Clinical/Psychiatric)

<p>About the Position: This position is located in the Psychiatric Unit at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform a comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and history to plan, provide and direct nursing care across the continuum of care.</p><p>Utilize appropriate interview skills to identify existing and potential problems and formulates a nursing plan of care.</p><p>Develop and initiate an innovative teaching program for patients requiring special approaches.</p><p>Administer many psychotropic and complex medications via the oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, topical, rectal, respiratory, intravenous routes.</p><p>Develop and present classes related to psychiatric/mental health nursing to enhance the knowledge base of peers and subordinates.</p><p>Participate in group and milieu therapy as well as individual therapies.</p><p>Coordinate patient enrollment in experiential classes that are conducted by various members of the interdisciplinary team.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
