Nurse (Clinical/Med-Surg)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Manage the care of patients with complex and multifaceted medical and surgical needs, applying advanced clinical expertise and judgment.</p><p>Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, identifying subtle and critical changes in patient conditions, and implementing sophisticated nursing interventions.</p><p>Interpret lab results and other findings and reports them to the healthcare provider when those findings indicate a deterioration of the patient’s condition.</p><p>Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for high-risk patients.</p><p>Provide leadership within the unit, mentoring junior nursing staff and serving as a resource for complex clinical situations.</p><p>Promote quality assurance initiatives within the unit, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.</p><h3>Education</h3>See Qualifications section for education requirements.
