Nurse (Clinical/Emergency Department)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide Emergency Department (ED) clinical nursing care to patients of any age group.</p><p>Assess patient's condition, and implement nursing care plans.</p><p>Perform various pulmonary ventilation functions, and operate and monitor highly complex technical equipment.</p><p>Teach, onboard and mentor professional and paraprofessional nursing staff.</p><p>Provide evidence-based instructions and education to patient/significant other and/or family members/caregivers.</p><p>Serve as a resource person for nurses and other health care providers to consult when particularly difficult problems in the care of patients arise.</p><p>Function as a charge nurse on a rotational bases and determine staffing requirements/mix and appropriateness of bed utilization.</p><h3>Education</h3>See Qualifications section for education requirements.
