Nurse (Clinical/Emergency Department)

<p>About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Emergency Medicine, in the Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Recruitment or Relocation incentives MAY be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide orientation and on the job training to newly assigned personnel, ensuring they were equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to perform duties safely and effectively.</p><p>Provide clear instructions and education to patients, significant others, and family members/caregivers regarding the inpatient care plan, post treatment home care needs.</p><p>Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.</p><p>Operate technical equipment, (e.g. cardiac monitors, ventilators, various intravenous infusion pumps, and defibrillators).</p><p>Monitor patient's condition; recognize, identify, and interpret serious situations.</p><p>Assess incoming patients and prioritize patient care based on need, available staffing, and patient acuity.</p><p>Serve as a clinical nurse performing a variety of professional nursing and health services to patients of all ages who present for treatment of illness or injuries.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
