<p>About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Nursing, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in a Critical Care Unit at the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma Washington. Recruitment or Relocation incentives MAY be authorized. Advance-in Hire/Salary negotiation may be available to candidates who are new to Federal service. Advanced Leave Accrual MAY be authorized to candidates who are new to Federal service This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Serve as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse (Clinical/Critical Care) at a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) within the Defense Health Agency (DHA).</p><p>Provide continuous neonatal assessments and high-acuity interventions, using rapid clinical judgment to stabilize critically ill infants.</p><p>Execute emergency measures in the absence of a physician, including neonatal resuscitation, preparation of emergency medications, defibrillation per protocol, and stabilization of life-threatening conditions.</p><p>Assist with endotracheal intubation, perform suctioning, and conduct continuous respiratory assessments to optimize oxygenation and ventilation.</p><p>Monitor cardiac output, vital signs, peripheral perfusion, fluid balance, and level of consciousness.</p><p>Administer medications via oral, intra-muscular, subcutaneous, intradermal and intravenous.</p><p>Operate specialized equipment, including ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, Ambu bags, intravenous infusion pumps, and wall-mounted suction devices, ensuring safe and effective support for critically ill patients.</p><p>Deliver training to staff and beneficiaries, including orientation of new personnel, hands-on instruction in critical-care equipment, emergency response, and neonatal stabilization techniques.</p><p>Conduct patient care conferences within the organization as needed to support coordinated treatment planning and communication.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
