Nurse (Clinical/Ambulatory)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center, San Diego, California This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Establish priorities for patient care and evaluates patients’ progress toward high-level wellness.</p><p>Act as relief nurse, triages and screens walk-in patients to assess the severity of the patient's condition and the need for provider intervention.</p><p>Screen patient charts to assess the medical history and determine health care needs.</p><p>Make psychosocial assessment of patients to identify significant cultural practices, the ability to understand and cooperate, and expectations of care and coping mechanisms.</p><p>Execute or ensure the completion of orders from health care providers</p><p>Recognize and report abnormal test results, changes in symptoms and the need for follow-up.</p><p>Record data on patient charts. Assists health care providers with examinations and procedures.</p><p>Assist clinic with patient and staff education.</p><p>Coordinate patient referrals to support services provided through the internal and external community, or the TRICARE network.</p><p>Assess patient’s emotional, cognitive, social and motivational status relative to education and determines their educational needs and priorities.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
