Nurse (Assistant Chief, Primary Care)

<p>The Assistant Chief Nurse executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs that cross service and/or discipline lines, influence organizational mission and health care, and responsibility for outcomes. Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Portland is a port city in the Pacific Northwest and the most populous city in the U.S. state of Oregon. Situated in the northwestern area of the state at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers. Portland is known for having the amenities of a major city (such as an international airport, an efficient public transit system, major league sports teams and many museums and art galleries) and the charms of a small city (such as plentiful arts and crafts fairs, independent bookstores and local traditions like the annual Rose Festival Parade). Rain or shine, you can take advantage of the city's proximity to nature by playing in the Willamette River, wandering through lush public parks and gardens, biking the city's 162 miles (261 km) of bike lanes and hiking trails both within city limits and in the nearby Columbia River Gorge. Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties include but are not limited to the following: Ensures administrative support and guidance while providing oversight for the delivery of nursing care and management of nursing personnel and clinical resources. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Follows procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Provides coordination and accountability for all regulatory and environmental surveys and adheres to mandatory response timelines. Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex client care. Functions as a self-directed clinical leader, educator, and consultant utilizing management theory in collaboration with Patient Care Service (PCS) and other services. Performs administrative functions to assist the Associate Chief Nurse (ACN) which include but are not limited to educational programs, medicine specialty, procedural areas, etc. Provides leadership in determining the allocation of resources based on patient care systems that produce high-quality outcomes.
