Nurse (Ambulatory Care)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at the 59th Medical Wing Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center at Lackland Air Force Base for Joint Base San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide professional nursing care through the delivery, management, and coordination of care and services in a clinic setting.</p><p>Perform assessments by systematically collecting focused data relating to the health needs and concerns of an individual patient, group, or population.</p><p>Perform procedures, such as urinary catheterizations, visual acuity tests, Electrocardiography (ECG/EKG), blood glucose monitoring, nebulization therapy, irrigation of eyes and ears, intravenous fluid therapy, and wound care, etc.</p><p>Perform medication administration via various routes (e.g., oral, otic, ophthalmic, rectal, vaginal, intradermal, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intravenous, topical, etc.).</p><p>Provide health education/coaching to patients, significant others, and/or family members/caregivers.</p><p>Serve as a professional resource for in-service education provided to or by ancillary personnel.</p><p>Participate and provide feedback in the peer review process for professional and paraprofessional staff.</p><h3>Education</h3>See Qualifications section for education requirements.
