Medical Technician

<p>About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform diagnostic analysis of biological specimens.</p><p>Monitor the performance of a variety of tests using complex automated analytical systems.</p><p>Perform macroscopic and microscopic examinations of cultures.</p><p>Perform diagnostic test using instrumentation for the monitoring of blood cultures and/or biochemical panels.</p><p>Prepare patient specimens for in-house testing and shipment of Reference Laboratories.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
