<p>About the Position: This position is located at Keesler Medical Group at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform a wide variety of difficult and complex laboratory tests and examinations in the chemistry, serology, hematology, urinalysis, immunohematology, and microbiology sections of a laboratory.</p><p>Select appropriate test methodology to use and recognize when test values are positive or exceed a defined decision limit, based on the results that determine the need for additional testing.</p><p>Provide training for laboratory personnel.</p><p>Ensure proper collection and processing of specimens for reference laboratory testing.</p><p>Perform fluorescent antibody tests such as the fluorescent treponemal antibody absorption test, a serologic test for syphilis, and the fluorescent antibody test for lupus erythematosus.</p><p>Ensure detected testing errors are resolved and specimens are retested before results are reported.</p><p>Maintain appropriate quality control data specific for individual tests performed.</p><p>Input data and results in hospital-wide computer system making corrections as required for proper diagnosis and treatment of the patient.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
