Medical Technician

<p>This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The MEPS play a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD and military services. This will be filled on a permanent basis.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Maintain applicant's medical records during the examination process.</p><p>Manage medical consultations to include verifying doctor's orders.</p><p>In-process applicants, verify identity using previously captured biometrics (digital fingerprints and photographs).</p><p>Assist applicants on completion of a variety of forms required for physical examination.</p><p>Perform phlebotomy procedures to obtain blood samples.</p><p>Review unique medical forms for proper format, coding and completion.</p><p>Maintain control logs, custody logs and rosters, and treatment center referral list in accordance with regulations and policies.</p><p>Monitor and maintain stock level of medical supplies and restock as necessary.</p><p>Ensure safety requirements are met for the proper use, storage, and disposal of needles and medical equipment.</p><p>Conduct standardized medical orientation briefings to applicants.</p><p>Prepare packages and ship specimens to testing laboratory.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
