Medical Technician

<p>About the Position: This is a developmental Medical Technician position located at Guthrie Army Health Clinic, Fort Drum, New York. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation available for those new to Federal employment.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Collect appropriate specimens and prepare them for testing.</p><p>Read, compile and report results in each area of specialization.</p><p>Calibrate various analyzers as required and run quality control samples on all instruments.</p><p>Assist in the training of new technicians.</p><p>Gather and record data for certain administrative reports.</p><p>Prepare specimens for shipment to other installations and laboratories in accordance with instructions concerning prevention of breakage, leakage and thawing of frozen specimens.</p><p>Consult with physicians regarding test findings or on additional tests.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
