Medical Technician

<p>About the Position: This position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform a wide variety of diagnostic tests, macroscopic, and microscopic examinations of cultures of numerous species of bacteria for the purpose of position identification.</p><p>Calibrate various analyzers as required and runs quality control samples on all instruments, making adjustments as necessary.</p><p>Ensure detected testing errors are resolved and specimens are retested before results are reported.</p><p>Assess the need for specific and general testing materials essential for sample testing and recommends sources for purchase of supplies.</p><p>Transcribe completed laboratory reports received from reference laboratories into hospital-wide computer system.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
