Medical Technician

<p>About the Position: This position is with Madigan Army Medical Center, Directorate of Clinical Support, Department of Pathology & Area Laboratory Services located in Tacoma, WA. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform waived-complexity testing and phlebotomy, primarily in the Okubo Soldier Centered Medical Home Laboratory on JBLM, in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.</p><p>Verify correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks.</p><p>Operate laboratory computer system which includes placing orders, logging samples, and entering test results.</p><p>Determine appropriateness of incoming specimens (i.e. timing of specimen collection, potential interference, proper specimen type, etc.).</p><p>Prepare specimens for shipment to the Madigan Main Laboratory.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
