ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>About the Position: Serves as a Medical Records Technician and receptionist/release of information clerk of the Data Flow Branch, Medical Information Services Division, Patient Administration, and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth Virginia. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Reviews, analyzes, sorts, sequences and compiles inpatient and ambulatory surgery medical records</p><p>Reviews patient information to prevent incomplete/inaccurate data.</p><p>Research and retrieves inpatient records from the medical record archive system</p><p>Applies quality management procedures to ensure the integrity of the medical record filing systems</p><p>Serves as a receptionist in the office for patient and hospital staff personnel.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
