Medical Records Technician (Office Automation)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center San Antonio, Texas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Compose correspondence or prepares abstracts of medical reports which involve analysis of the case involved in order to present only necessary and pertinent information.</p><p>Review clinical and outpatient records, which are to be copied for appropriateness of content and determines whether record should be copied or an abstract prepared.</p><p>Counsel military sponsors and/or dependents requesting medical information for processing a request and processes through appropriate channels.</p><p>Submit copies to Medical Service Accounts Office for insurance processing and maintains a file copy.</p><p>Receive personal and telephone inquiries regarding the status of abstracts, medical reports, and other information requested.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
