ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Greater Los Angeles VA Health Care System is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the Specialty Clinics within our Nursing, Specialty Care Department</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>VA Careers - Licensed Practical Nurse: https://youtube.com/embed/Ae85IP1Oiz4 Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but are not limited to: Provide age-specific nursing care tailored to meet individual patient needs. Adapt nursing interventions based on patient condition, preferences, and response to treatment. Identify and respond appropriately to emergency situations, including initiating CPR when necessary. Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and care plans while reinforcing RN-led education. Follow established nursing procedures and standards of care in clinical practice. Utilize sound judgment when planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Contribute to the development and evaluation of individualized patient care plans. Independently plan, organize, and prioritize nursing assignments efficiently. Administer medications according to policies and document their administration accurately. Recognize medication side effects and report concerns promptly to the Registered Nurse. Monitor and document patient responses to medications, including IV infusions. Record and report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and pain levels to the RN. Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Comply with safety regulations, utilize protective equipment properly, and report safety concerns. Participate in mandatory training, safety drills, and emergency preparedness activities. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases when setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
