ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>The Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) assigned to the VA Portland Health Care System Specialty Care Clinics, under the Division of Hospital and Specialty Medicine, provides outpatient clinical services for the subspecialties such as Medicine, Surgery, and Neurology. Recruitment/Relocation Incentives may be authorized for highly qualified candidates</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Major duties: The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical/License Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) 6 is to perform assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, positive customer service and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the veteran. The LPN/LVN also performs assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, outstanding customer service, and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the veteran. The GS-6 LPN/LVN performs within this functional statement under guidance of the Nurse Manager or designee. Assigned tasks require basic technical competence and skill. The GS-6 LPN/LVN is expected to be able to function at the fully successful level for all key elements at the GS-5 Level. The GS-6 is a full performance functional level for the LPN/LVN occupation for providing practical nursing care with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems. Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Work Schedule: Monday - Friday. Possible hours of work are 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, and 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM PST. The final schedule will be determined by the manager at the time of hire, considering service needs and applicant's input. Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: May be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not authorized. Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Telework: Not available.
