<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Marion VA Health Care System in Marion, IL is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Specialty Clinic within Nursing Service located at the VA Healthcare Center in Evansville, IN. The incumbent will be assigned to the Specialty team and administer nursing care to adult and geriatric patients. The incumbent is administratively responsible to the Nurse Manager. The incumbent must be able to function independently and be self-motivated. Not all duties may be listed, so other duties may be assigned: The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the highest possible quality of care is achieved and that a safe therapeutic environment is provided. The incumbent provides care that is in accordance with established standards, hospital policies and procedures. The incumbent communicates with patients, family members, internal and external co-workers and customers in a courteous, tactful, helpful, and understanding manner. PLEASE NOTE: These positions require Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If selected, Applicants will provide proof of current certifications prior to employment. Only BLS certification which included Automated External Defibrillator (AED) obtained from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Military Treatment Training Network (MTN) will be accepted.
