ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>TheInpatient Mental Health Nurse Manager is a professional Registered Nurse who holds 24-hour accountability for the management of inpatient mental health services within the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFV AHCS). The Nurse Manager functions under the direction and guidance of the Chief Nurse Mental Health Services and in collaboration with Mental Health leadership and MH interdisciplinary clinical team members. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Fosters a high level of engagement and collaboration with all service stakeholders geared towards promoting patient-centered care. Demonstrates support and commitment in promoting culture of safety aligned with the facility's mission to High Reliability Organization. Responsible and accountable for all elements of nursing process when providing and or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plan, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components of mental health patient population. Assumes leadership and responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. Facilitates team's support in the transitions of care, supports promotion of access and continuity of patient care in collaboration with MH clinical team and leaderships. Accountable for the safe implementation of practice and performance guidelines including staff's adherence to established department safety policies and operating procedures, and those mandated by central directives and regulating bodies. Assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignments, and designations of staff. Other duties as assigned.
