<p>This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (http://www.milwaukee.va.gov/) in the Clinical Informatics & Medical Technology (CLIMET) Division, under the Associate Chief of Staff. The Informatics Integrator, Registered Nurse exercises leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of hardware and software applications integrated with Electronic Health Record (EHR) and associated programs/applications.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Clinical Informatics & Medical Technology (CLIMET) Division, under the Associate Chief of Staff. The Informatics Integrator, Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a resource for local Informatics department and Informatics Committee (ISC). The Health Informatics Integrator works directly with facility leadership and staff to support the informatics ticketing process and overall Electronic Health Record (EHR) deployment efforts to meet the organization's modernization objectives. Some of the Informaticists duties include but are not limited to: Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including other program and service leaders at the facility/practice setting and network. Works closely to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of Veteran Affairs (VA) staff nationwide. Assist in directing the provision of education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. Integrate software applications for clinical services by evaluating the specific needs of the service in conjunction with the software capabilities and/or any needed modifications. Improves efficiency and effectiveness of processes by utilizing knowledge of human factors, the usability of redesigned health information systems, and knowledge of human psychological barriers to usability. Ensuring the Federal HER ticket platform seamlessly addresses healthcare and operational needs. Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not authorized</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), located at 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326. The ACEN accredits all levels of nursing programs, including clinical doctorate, masters/post master's certificate, baccalaureate, associate and diploma nursing education programs. (Note: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission/NLNAC changed its name to ACEN in May 2013. ACEN's website may be utilized to verify accredited programs using automated inquiry processes; however, for verification of any nursing program's accreditation prior to 1998, an automated inquiry cannot be used and ACEN must be contacted directly via their email contact information on the ACEN website to verify.) The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), located at 655 K Street, NW, Suite 7, Washington, DC 20001. The CCNE is an accrediting arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and accredits nursing education programs at the bachelor and master's level.
