<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager with supervisory duties and responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 operations of their designated units. Duties and responsibilities include: Supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 operation of their designated units. Is responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performance. Functions as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. Enhances care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes. Effectively functions as a leader, with demonstrated outcomes, for the immediate practice setting. Leads teams, contributes to team conferences, and actively collaborates in all phases of patient care planning. Participates in the advancement of the profession through mentoring, precepting, and/or teaching. Leads patient care improvement through monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating care outcomes in the immediate practice setting. Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. Engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth. Adhering to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels. Equip staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes. Cultivates alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence. Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care. Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, Directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP).
