ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>You will develop and deliver nutrition education related to supplementation that complies with the Department of Defense (DoD) dietary supplement program.</p><p>You will develop and deliver nutrition education presentations, demonstrations, or events on topics related to nutrition for performance that occur inside and outside of the performance center.</p><p>You will develop and teach non-clinical nutrition education and cooking classes for optimal performance of families, staff, and other authorized users.</p><p>You will create performance-based digital and educational content such as articles, social media messages, webinars.</p><p>You will assess and analyze dietary practices, body composition, and energy intake and expenditures of Marine athletes in the context of operational performance and health.</p><p>You will implement standardized nutrition education with a focus on optimal nutrition recovery from illness or injury and ensure Semper Fit protocols are followed.</p><h3>Education</h3>Applicants must meet one of the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Basic Requirements: Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in the fields of dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science. The educational program must have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics(external link) (ACEND), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. For dietitian positions, the curriculum must have been in accordance with the qualifying requirements established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)(external link) (formerly American Dietetic Association(external link) (ADA) prior to January 1, 2012) in effect at the time of graduation. Completion of a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by AND (formerly ADA) for dietitians or nutritionists. Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
