<p>The Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System seeks a Clinical Dietitian in Nutrition & Food Service to coordinate Veterans' nutritional care with healthcare teams, Veterans, caregivers, and the community.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Include but are not limited to: Conducts comprehensive nutrition assessments using the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) Performs Nutrition Focused Physical Exams (NFPE) to assess malnutrition risk and severity Collaborates with foodservice staff to ensure diet accuracy Provides individualized and group nutrition education and counseling Uses virtual tools like VA Video Connect (VVC) and Secure Messaging (SM) to enhance access Assists in planning and educating patients on home nutrition support Maintains accurate documentation of clinical activities and patient encounters via Event Capture System (ECS) Participates in peer reviews Engages in community outreach as needed Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Compressed/Flexible: Not authorized. Telework: Position is approved Ad-Hoc Telework. This is determined by the Service Manager. Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not authorized.</p><h3>Requirements</h3>You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Subject to background/security investigation. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year or 2-year trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, we may consider: your performance and conduct; the needs and interests of the agency; whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government; and whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service.
