<p>This position is located at the Butler VA Medical Center. The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for independently planning, developing and directing all nutritional care activities for assigned veterans, including those with complex medical and nutritional needs. Dietitians in a clinical setting are responsible for utilizing the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) framework to provide patient-centered care using evidenced-based guidelines to make decisions.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Major duties include, but are not limited to: Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and identify nutrition-related problems. Develop, implement, monitor, and adjust individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy. Document care using the ADIME format in the medical record. Calculate nutrition needs, restrictions, and diet prescriptions for diverse patients. Recommend and collaborate on nutrition support interventions with the healthcare team. Provide tailored nutrition education and counseling to individuals and groups. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate effectively across care teams. Maintain productivity standards and accurate clinical documentation. Support performance improvement, data collection, and service-level initiatives. Ensure compliance with accrediting agencies and VA clinical standards. Serve as liaison with Food Operations to enhance patient dining and satisfaction. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to support coordinated patient care. Follow VA computer security, privacy, and data-protection requirements. Deliver care that is sensitive to age, developmental, and cultural differences among Veterans. Performs other duties as assigned. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Subject to background/security investigation.
