Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (MRI)

<p>About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Radiology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. 2nd Shift Position: Duty Hours 1430-2300 (2:30pm-11:00pm EST) This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Independently conduct complex 3D and 2D magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of the head, spine, extremities, and body, ensuring precise image acquisition for diagnostic purposes.</p><p>Receive and instruct patients by explaining procedures methods, safety precautions, and risks, position them accurately, start intravenous lines (IV) as needed, and produce required images for examinations.</p><p>Identify and correct image artifacts to enhance quality, collaborate with radiologists to tailor imaging protocols for both standard and complex cases, and promptly notify physicians of significant findings during exams.</p><p>Administer emergency medications under physician guidance and manage emergency equipment such as defibrillators, oxygen, and suction devices.</p><p>Retrieve and present images to radiologists and referring physicians to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.</p><p>Assists in the triage of scheduling patients.</p><p>Trains other staff in performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
