<p>Works for the Central Virginia VA Health Care System at the Fredericksburg Health Care Center (FxHCC), in Fredericksburg, Virginia, as a direct report to the Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Service. Duty Location is: 10432 Patriot Highway Fredericksburg, VA 22408-2628.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>At the GS-5 level duties include but are not limited to: Serve in this developmental assignment until the full performance level of Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, GS-0647-6, target GS-0647-7, target GS-0647-8 is reached. The duties performed are those of an advanced trainee and are commensurate with the grade of the position. At the GS-5 level, the employee performs assignments that are planned to provide further technical development. Completed work is reviewed for accuracy, adequacy, and adherence to VA policies and methods. Performs the full spectrum of radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations in a tertiary care facility with an active spinal cord, nursing home, hospice, polytrauma unit, heart and liver transplant services. Performs specialized procedures and operates specialized fluoroscopic and radiographic equipment and computers that communicate with the equipment. Receives patients, explains method of procedure and obtains signed consents for examinations with contrast media. Responsible for proper positioning of patients. Prior to exposure, selects and sets technical factors. Sets up and adjust accessory equipment required and makes exposures necessary for the requested procedures. Performs other directly related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5pm Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
