Dental Hygienist

<p>About the Position: This position is with the the Directorate of Branch Clinics within the Health Clinic Presidio in Monterey, California. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Perform complete and advanced oral prophylaxis on ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients.</p><p>Expose, develop, process, and mount radiographs including bite wing, periapical, and panoramic x-rays.</p><p>Make repairs and adjustments to teeth by smoothing rough edges, remove overhanging margins, reduce sharp edges, and insert temporary fillings.</p><p>Examine patient's mouth, throat, and pharynx, referring abnormalities to dentist.</p><p>Interpret routine x-rays to identify tooth structures, calculus, and abnormalities.</p><h3>Education</h3>Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.*For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
