Dental Assistant

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Take preliminary impressions for study models, remove sutures, place and remove rubber dams, perio-packs, matrix bands, and wedges.</p><p>Instruct patient in proper dental techniques, care of appliances, and causes of dental decay.</p><p>Pour and trim model from impressions and construct custom impression trays.</p><p>Chart examination and treatment information as relayed by dentist to patient records.</p><p>Pass instruments and materials to and from the dentist; keep area of operation clear using high speed evacuator, suction tip, and irrigation; and retract tissue, tongue and cheek.</p><p>Aid in the training of trainee dental assistants and students; demonstrate clinic maintenance, chair side assistance, and radiographic duties regularly performed.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
