ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>This position is located within the Office of the Associate Director, Patient Care Services (ADPCS), Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS), Phoenix, AZ. It is a Level 1a major interdisciplinary teaching facility with service lines serving medical, surgical, mental health, and long-term care inpatients and outpatients with an Emergency Department and multiple community-based outpatient clinics (CBOC).</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Duties Include but not limited to: The Nurse V Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Service: Clinical Programs (DADPSC: CP) will provide leadership for Primary Care, Specialty Care, Perioperative, Prosthetics, and Geriatrics and Extended Care. The DADPCS: CP is expected to provide support to additional service areas as needed to ensure continuity of operations and alignment with organizational goals. The DADPCS: CP supports the organization's Pathway to Excellence journey by strengthening shared governance, advancing nursing practice standards, and reinforcing a professional, supportive work environment. The role helps maintain momentum, ensures alignment with Pathway requirements, and promotes consistent engagement across units as the facility progresses toward designation. Preferred Experience: 5+ years of proven experience of progressive nursing executive leadership. Experience in Nursing / Outpatient Operations Demonstrated change management experience Demonstrated experience with planning organization wide initiatives Organizational policy review and development expertise Certification in Nursing Leadership such as NE-BC, NEA-BC, CENP preferred Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work independently and effectively with a diverse group/team Current Chief or Assistant Chief Experience Pathway to Excellence and/or Magnet Experience preferred MSN required; Doctorate preferred Current Grade: Nurse IV or Higher Salary will not change Direct Supervisor approval is required Detail Duration: up-to 120 Days Current Year SF50 Required for consideration VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: 7:30AM to 4:00PM (Monday through Friday) Compressed/Flexible: Not Authorized Telework: Not Authorized Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
