Cytology Technician

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma Washington. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Cytology Technician performs specialized, difficult, delicate, and demanding procedures and techniques, in preparing a great variety of cytologic specimens from many body sites.</p><p>Operate, calibrates, maintains and troubleshoots all cytology analyzers. Verifies correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks (i.e., background checks, optic checks, temperature checks, pipet checks).</p><p>Perform and documents performance of daily staining quality control and maintenance procedures.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
