Audiologist

<p>About the Position: This position is located in a hospital or clinic setting and is responsible for performing professional audiology work supporting the Directorate of Surgery, Audiology and is located at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Evaluate patients for auditory dysfunction associated with traumatic brain injury, polytrauma or post-traumatic stress disorders, to include central auditory processing evaluations.</p><p>Conduct diagnostic audiological assessments and procedures.</p><p>Select and fit all types of hearing aids and assistive devices and listening devices.</p><p>Perform complete diagnostic audiology evaluations on infants who do not pass the initial hearing screening criteria, or who fall within the High-Risk factor for hearing loss.</p><p>Document each patient treatment by writing clinical reports and ensure documentation is accurate.</p><p>Perform testing to evaluate vestibular dysfunction.</p><p>Teach principles of diagnostic audiology, rehabilitation, or vestibular function on an occasional basis to ENT staff and residents and 4th year Audiology students.</p><p>Operate automated data systems utilized to document patient care.</p><p>Perform cochlear implant evaluations and mappings.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
