Advanced Practice Nurse (Practitioner/Family Practice)

<p>About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. This position is located in the Department of Family Medicine at Guthrie Army Health Clinic, Fort Drum, NY. This an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provide a wide range of primary health care to individuals of all ages and families, to include patient care such as diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, injuries, and disease prevention and treatment.</p><p>Provide nursing and medical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the management of acute and chronic diseases.</p><p>Initiate requests for laboratory and radiological tests.</p><p>Prescribe such medications and treatments based on protocol guidelines and in consultation with a clinic physician when appropriate.</p><p>Communicate progress and/or changes to the patient, family and health care team and makes inter-disciplinary referrals as deemed necessary.</p><p>Prepare, in writing, complete and accurate evaluation documents on each patient seen in the clinical setting, using professional knowledge of community health nursing principles, practices, and procedures including physical and emotional assessment.</p><h3>Education</h3>See Qualifications section for education requirements.
