Advanced Practice Nurse (Practitioner/Ambulatory)

<p>About the Position: This position is located at Naval Health Clinic New England, Newport, Rhode Island. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Administers health care services in an outpatient setting in compliance with state and federal regulations and meets professional standards, including BUMED policies, and the requirements of designated regulatory agencies.</p><p>Evaluates patients with acute/minor and chronic illnesses, providing compassionate, competent care and follow-up.</p><p>Makes appropriate diagnosis based on history, physical exams, and appropriate laboratory and ancillary studies, as indicated.</p><p>Prescribes approved medications and other therapeutic agents.</p><p>Assesses individuals and develops a care plan based on physical and psycho-social status and on the needs of the patient.</p><p>Orders appropriate ancillary services, such as radiographs, electrocardiograms (EKGs),and other procedures.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
