ABOUT THIS ROLE

<p>This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) with responsibility for performing medical examinations and documenting medical history and findings in order for a determination to be made about suitability of applicants for service in the Armed Forces.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>As an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner), you will:</p><p>Perform applicant physical examinations in accordance with agency standards and assist with applicant medical processing at a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).</p><p>Ensure the confidentiality of applicants is respected and that professionalism is maintained at all times in the medical department.</p><p>Perform applicant medical prescreening as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.</p><p>Conduct complete face-to-face medical histories on applicants who have completed the prescreen process and have been authorized to process.</p><p>Complete all computer and non-computer based medical documentation in accordance with the Command's software packages and policies.</p><p>Verify problems or conditions alleged by the examinees and recommend to Command physicians if a more detailed physical exam of problem areas is required.</p><p>Prepare electronic and non-electronic documentation used to assess the applicant’s mental and physical fitness for service in the military.</p><p>Perform physical inspections of previously qualified applicants to document their status for meeting standards at the time of actual enlistment on active duty and at any other time as required.</p><p>Perform a variety of professional direct health care duties within the field of general medicine.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
