ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>About the Position: This position is located in the Director for Mental Health, Department of Mental Health Acute and Outpatient Services Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Bethesda, MD. Hours of operation: Monday- Friday 0730 - 1600 This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Provides comprehensive mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults.</p><p>Performs psychiatric intakes, evaluations, and prescribes medications.</p><p>Educates patients about medication risks, benefits, and side effects; monitors progress and efficacy.</p><p>Coordinates with primary care and other providers for referrals, feedback, and ongoing care.</p><p>Maintains accurate records using computerized systems for documentation and coding.</p><p>Complies with Joint Commission standards, National Patient Safety goals, and other quality initiatives.</p><p>Participates in quality improvement systems and projects.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
