<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The NP is a licensed independent practitioner with advanced education and national certification who provides evidence-based care for a population of patients. Major duties and responsibilities of the position: Program Management Administrative/Supervisory Supervises assigned professional and nonprofessional staff assigned to the Health Informatics data analytics team Develops and establishes policies and procedures defining operational requirements for quality improvement, safety, regulatory compliance, or as ELT or supervisory staff assign Serves on assigned medical center committees Clinical Operations Support Exercises expertise in clinical operations, develops and/or oversees the development of information related to patient care, such as patient registries to allow the Clinical Team to track management of patient illnesses and better manage the delivery of healthcare Develops performance management tracking tools (Pyramid 2018, Power Bl, SSRS, or using SQL) Extracts, analyzes, and provides data to assess treatment impacts such as clinical endpoints, health status outcomes and utility estimates Determines methodology to correlate/evaluate Veterans' Experience data and access management data to ensure patient concerns are received, evaluated, and addressed in a timely and effective manner Assesses and evaluates both inpatient and outpatient care processes, working directly with clinicians to customize and configure applications to meet patient care needs Customizes menus, progress note titles and templates, order sets, clinical reminders, consults, health summaries, parameter settings for view alerts and notifications Performs analyses of projects incorporating broad knowledge of all technical, administrative and clinical impacts and implications, and makes reports and recommendations to management Serves as a knowledge expert for the electronic health record and associated clinical software, providing users and staff with consultative support and education Consults, advice, and educates all levels of employees, including the highest levels of management, on methods and means to make health care operations more effective and efficient Serves as subject matter expert on clinical access data sources and the analysis and display of clinical access data for critical decision making by senior leadership Guides the evolution of clinical software/data and processes using creative and well-developed interpersonal skills to achieve effective communication with the end users, Office of Information and Technology (01& T), and management Serves as a leader in change management, analyzing and evaluating clinical and administrative processes related to information flow, with progressive Lean Certifications Evaluates circumstances where new operational procedures are needed and where health information systems require revision Provides advice and guidance to assist in revisions of operational procedures and clinical processes Develops implementation plans for new software releases/applications and updates Serves as a project leader or team member, works through and with interdisciplinary teams to complete health information system initiatives established by national, VISN and local authorities Clinical Practice Duties Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team Order and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services Provides education to patients and their families Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Telework: Ad-hoc Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
