ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in the Public Health Nursing Service department at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Coordinate efforts, as appropriate, with US Army Public Health Command to provide exchange of innovation and research data.</p><p>As part of a team, assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive epidemiology and reportable events and communicable disease prevention and control program.</p><p>Order labs, medications, radiographs, make referrals to other services and specialty providers, and complete all forms required by Soldier Readiness Programs.</p><p>Conduct work site visits to educate military and civilian populations, staff and command and/or management, about results of surveillance and the prevention and control of reportable events.</p><p>Collaborate in the development and implementation of programs to meet the epidemiological needs of the installation and collaborate on epidemiological needs of Public Health Command Region – South.</p><p>Educate patients and partners regarding prescribed treatment, follow-up procedures and prevention methods used to prevent future infections or events.</p><h3>Education</h3>See Qualifications section for education requirements.
