ABOUT THIS ROLE

<p>The Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist performs complex imaging exams, ensures high-quality diagnostic results, supports physicians during specialized procedures, and maintains safe, efficient workflow in the radiology service.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Primary Duties, but not limited too: - Perform advanced diagnostic imaging procedures (CT, MRI, or specialized modalities based on facility needs). - Ensure accurate patient identification, positioning, and safety throughout all exams. - Operate complex imaging equipment and troubleshoot technical issues. - Review imaging for diagnostic quality and collaborate with radiologists on exam needs. - Assist providers with specialized or interventional radiology procedures. - Maintain radiation safety standards and monitor equipment functionality. - Document imaging procedures accurately in the electronic health record. - Provide patient education about imaging processes and post-procedure instructions. - Support workflow efficiency through exam scheduling, room preparation, and equipment readiness. - Participate in quality assurance, continuing education, and accreditation compliance activities. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Must pass pre-employment physical examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
