Advance Practice Nurse (Nurse Anesthetist)

<p>About the Position: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Director for Surgery, Department of Anesthesia. Will support the main operating room, labor and delivery ward, pre-operative clinic, post-anesthesia recovery unit, and all anesthetic procedures outside of the operating room (including, but not limited to the endoscopy clinic, the interventional cardiovascular suite, stone center, pediatric radiology and the emergency room). This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Interprets and addresses abnormal diagnostic data and changes in signs and symptoms; modifies anesthetic plan accordingly.</p><p>Determines necessity for laboratory studies, coordinates ordering of lab tests and evaluates results.</p><p>Provides immediate, post-operative care to patients transported to the PACU, ICU or recovery area; ensures patient airway, hemodynamic stability, optimal pain control and appropriate level of consciousness.</p><p>Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to treat underlying causes and conditions and stabilize the patient for transport to a higher level of care.</p><p>Collaborates with the anesthesia, surgical and multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, holistic, evidence-based care.</p><p>Provides oversight and instruction to other CRNAs, students, and ancillary workers in the field of anesthesia, in both clinical and administrative areas.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
