ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>About the Position: Serves as the Department Head and is responsible for the overall supervision, planning, budgeting, administration, execution, and quality assessment of the professional occupational services. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>The Physician performs all medical examinations and orders all necessary ancillary tests, such as biological screenings, x-rays, and pulmonary function tests.</p><p>Performs medical surveillance program examinations to include preplacement (pre-employment), termination, medical surveillance, fitness for duty, regional civil service, disability, respiratory protection qualification.</p><p>Reviews the employee occupational exposure history and the laboratory test and evaluation results with employee at the conclusion of the examination.</p><p>Refers the employee for follow-up by their primary care physician, as needed</p><p>Following the examination, notifies the designated point of contact of suitability for hire, ability to return to work, or medical surveillance examination results, as appropriate for the type of examination conducted.</p><p>Responsible for the following services; occupational audiology services in support of hearing conservation program with audiometric testing, walk-in services for injury/illness,</p><p>Determines the cause of the sentinel health events by reviewing the safety data, health record data and industrial hygiene information, evaluating the workplace and interviewing the employee and workplace supervisor.</p><p>Monitors, evaluates, and reports sentinel health events.</p><p>Monitors significant threshold shifts in hearing, identifies adverse trends, and communicates findings with responsible safety managers.</p><p>Provides reproductive health evaluations to include all necessary follow-up evaluations and testing within the scope of services provided by the division.</p><h3>Education</h3>FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
