ABOUT THIS ROLE
<p>RN vacancy exists in Orthopedics Clinic. This busy service provides clinical support to our outpatient Orthopedic Patients. The Nurse assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. The nurse will also administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines, and influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team .</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based specialty care to assigned patients with oversight licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the clinic setting. This nurse provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, healthy educations and coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization. Practice includes direction other provides. Partners with the patient, family and interdisciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the health care continuum, including the Veteran's goals of care. This nurse has fundamental specialty care experience with the situations in which they are ultimately expected to perform, integrating theoretical concepts, basic critical thinking skills, and technically skilled practice. Able to push and/or pull, stretchers, wheelchairs, and equipment.
