<p>* Recruitment or Relocation incentive may be authorized for eligible, highly qualified candidates! * The Nurse Recruiter/Staffing Methodology Coordinator works in Patient Care Services at the Coatesville VA Medical Center and delivers and improves the processes of recruitment, onboarding and retention of the nursing workforce. The incumbent will asses, plan, implement and evaluate recruitment and retention efforts of nursing staff to identify highly qualified talent for the facility.</p><h3>Major Duties</h3><p>Duties in include but are not limited to: Recognizes recruitment methodologies to assist in the establishment and maintenance of a diverse workforce. Participates in utilization of best practices, evidence-based data, and research finding to guide nurse recruitment, retention, and initiatives. Identifies relevant information on trends in nurse recruitment and retention and reviews and shares current literature in relation to recruitment and retention. Maintains competency to continue personal and professional growth. Utilizes guidance in developing recommendations for systems and/or resource changes that will serve to improve the workforce and resource utilization. Works collaboratively with nursing administration, leadership, and Human Resources (HR) Management Service to meet resource needs. Utilizes knowledge and experience of the candidate requirements and will clarify information to ensure a best fit for the candidate and the organization. Leads the provision of complex recruitment and retention needs utilizing the nursing process in alignment with recruitment and retention standards of practice for assigned units, teams, and workgroups Identifies the EEO Program, demonstrating EEO principles to all recruitment and retention activities. Serves as a liaison by using expert clinical knowledge to facilitate candidate experience and engagement throughout the onboarding process Serves as a role model and resource in ethical decision making and provides leadership in addressing ethical issues that impact candidates and staff as it relates to recruitment and retention activities. Makes sustained contributions to healthcare by actively participating in healthcare facility or service-level committees or councils, establishing active relationships and demonstrating leadership in improving care beyond the immediate practice setting. Serves as the subject matter expert for Staffing Methodology. Maintains a working relationship with nurse managers and staffing methodology unit expert panels to maintain nursing hours per patient day as outlined in the units staffing methodology and nursing hours per patient day recommendations. Assists nurse managers with identifying staff mix to maintain nursing hours per patient day as outline in their staffing methodology memorandum. Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: A recruitment incentive of $7,500 is authorized. Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p><h3>Requirements</h3>U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Subject to background/security investigation. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). You may be required to serve a probationary period.
